GALVESTON ISLAND BEACH HOMES FOR SALE

Searching for a Galveston beach home? Contact Janke & Co. Properties today – we have many Galveston Bay homes available. Situated on The Gulf of Mexico, Galveston Island has its own unique charm and character throughout. Its national historical significance, 17 mile Sea Wall with sandy beaches, warm tropical water, endless views and gentle breezes makes it obvious why so many call it home. Named after the Spanish colonial governor and general, Bernardo de Galvez in 1786 and incorporated into the State of Texas in 1839, Galveston has quickly become one of the most active ports west of New Orleans. The historic neighborhoods in Galveston provide homeowners a variety of unique opportunities. Its hundreds of historic structures and thousands of historic homes makes it one of the country’s most important concentrations of 19th-20th century Victorian architecture, including the many works of Nicholas Clayton.

Commute

Getting to and from destinations on the island is pretty easy. The main highway, IH-45, is the only major highway that takes you on the causeway, over the ship channel and connects the island to the mainland. Once entering the island, exiting 61st street will take you right to the Seawall where you will be greeted by the sandy beach with an endless gulf view. Finally, whether going East or West to your destination, Seawall Blvd extends the length of the island.
